TGA Golf Club Fitting Overview

“The value of having something custom fit is that it is custom fit to you. You don’t want to have your body adjust to the golf club. That is probably the worst thing you could have happen. You ingrain so many bad habits that way. The best way to start off with any set of golf clubs is to have them built for your size and your height. That’s probably the easiest thing to control is the set up of your golf clubs, because there is no movement in it.” – Tiger Woods

To improve your game not only involves improving your swing and your golf specific fitness, but also selecting and playing with the right equipment for your unique swing and skill level. Unfortunately, most golfers still play with ill-fit equipment straight off the rack. Rather than fitting their equipment to complement their swing, they adjust their swing to accommodate their equipment. Typical results: bad habits get formed and all too often they fall short of their potential!

Golf Professionals learned long ago that equipment fitting was one of the keys to peak performance. Today they utilize computer and technological advances to fine tune their game. To play great or even better golf you must have properly fit equipment suited to your own uniqueness. For clubs this may mean lie angle, shaft type, shaft flex, length, loft, grip size, total weight, balance point, frequency matching, club aesthetics, club design and set make-up may have to be adjusted or purchased entirely new. For putters it may be length, lie, loft or weight. Ball fitting is the latest technology that assures you are playing with a golf ball that optimizes your distance and accuracy based on the spin rates you generate. We believe your golf swing, club fitting, and ball fitting are nearly inseparable.

Integral in our fitting concept The Golf Academy offers the latest computerized state-of-the-art golf club fitting by Swing Labs, putter fitting by Mitchell Golf and ball fitting by Advanced Golf Solutions. We perform these equipment fittings using a combination of this TGA software with data from our FlightScope Doppler Radar Launch Monitor to determine the optimal equipment for you. To further enhance our client’s experience, these equipment fittings are performed by the same certified professional swing coach/fitter they work with.

Remember you may own great clubs but you may be better then your clubs let you be. Equipment affects motion
and your chance of producing a sound repeatable swing without properly fitted clubs is impossible.
