IT COMBINES THE BEST OF SOME OF THE GREATEST INSTRUCTION BOOKS OF ALL TIME WITH THE LATEST GEOMETRY, PHYSICS, AND BIO-MECHANICS OF THE GOLF SWING IN AN ORGANIZED SYSTEMATIC APPROACH. WHETHER YOU’RE A BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE, LOW HANDICAPPER, TOUR PLAYER OR AN INSTRUCTOR LOOKING FOR AN ORGANIZED GUIDLINE TO COACHING, THIS IS THE ONE BOOK YOU NEED TO OWN.
BETTER GOLF IS NOT INSTANT, IT REQUIRES AN UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR SWING FAULTS & ISSUES AND AN APPLICATION OF THE KEY PIECES YOU NEED TO APPLY TO FIX YOUR SWING AND TAKE YOUR GAME TO THE NEXT LEVEL.
The information you receive in 10 Lessons: The True Fundamentals of the Golf Swing has been measured and tested with the World’s Greatest Players. This book will help you every step of the way as you gain a new understanding of the golf swing and more importantly, how to apply these lessons to fix YOUR issues and YOUR game.
I believe, the fundamental movements and pieces of the Golf Swing are achievable by all golfers. I will explain and show you the details of the swing, in a way you’ve never seen. This book, will change your game in a profound way.
The typical instruction, whether it’s in person or in a Book or DVD, is often confusing, misleading, or contradictory. If you read the latest Golf Digest, you will find tips and articles in the same issue that contradict each other. If you search YouTube for tips and information, you will become so confused, you cannot even swing. There are many great YouTube videos, the problem is you have no idea which ones are good. On every driving range or golf course you will hear golfers using terms such as “I swung too fast” or “I looked up”, or “I sliced, so I need to strengthen my grip”, or “my slice is caused by an open clubface”. The fact is these terms or bromides have nothing to do with why you hit the ball poorly.
Golf instruction for years has stated the fundamentals of the swing are Grip, Alignment, Stance and Posture (Gasp). A fundamental is defined as a central or primary rule or principle on which something is based. In other words, if this were true for the golf swing, every top player would have the same grip, alignment, stance and posture. We obviously know this is not true. The grip, alignment, stance and posture are preferences or variables, NOT FUNDAMENTALS. Does that mean that some of these attachments need improvement or change? YES, because we are looking for functionality not uniformity. The grip, as an example, can be overlap, interlock, or ten-finger and it can be strong, neutral or weak. The greatest players of all time exhibit these variabilities and preferences. The most important thing is the club is placed in your hands in a way that allows your wrists to function correctly.
So what are the True Fundamentals? There are three True Fundamentals that all the greatest players of all time and lower handicap golfers have exhibited.
THE 3 TRUE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE GOLF SWING:
- The ability to hit the ground in the same place every time and forward of the ball to insure clean contact.
- The ability to create enough power or distance to enjoy and play the game.
- The ability to match the clubface to the swing path to control the curvature of the ball to keep it in play.
Think about Fundamental #1: Do you hit the ground behind the ball in various amounts?
Do you top it or hit it thin? (IT’S NOT BECAUSE YOU LIFT YOUR HEAD). Do you have all of the above misses? Most do, so Controlling the low point, is the first measurable difference between players of different skill levels. There is a direct correlation between your ability to hit the ground in the same place and forward of the ball and your handicap. In 10 Lessons: The True Fundamentals of the Golf Swing I show you the keys to solid contact.
How about Fundamental #2, is your distance good? Do you hit the ball far enough? To enjoy the game and play your best, you must have enough power. Fundamental #2 is certainly present in the best players in the world and with all low handicappers. Manufacturers for years have introduced, each year, the latest driver that hit’s it 20 yards farther. If that were true, and you made that purchase each of the past 20 years, you would be hitting it 400 yards farther than you did 20 years ago. The modern drivers certainly hit the ball farther than the Laminated or Persimmon wood drivers of yesteryear, but measurable distance increases can only be achieved with an understanding of the pieces in the swing that produce power. In 10 Lessons: The True Fundamentals of the Golf Swing you will learn those pieces.
Fundamental #3 is controlling the curve, or understanding why the ball starts in the direction it does and curves in the way it does or how to create those start points and curves. Most amateurs pull their irons and slice their woods. Eighty to 85 percent of all golfers have a ball flight pattern that ranges from a mild fade (mini-slice) to a dreaded banana ball (severe slice). The issue here is the Ball Flight Laws as published in the PGA teaching manual, and taught by most instructors are wrong. It stipulates that the face of the club creates the curve and the path creates the start line of the ball. Actually, it’s just the opposite. A noted physicist, Theodore Jorgensen, in 1992 determined that the “D” plane controls ball flight. New technology such as TrackMan, a $25,000 Doppler Launch Monitor, that tracks the path of the club in relation to the target line, the clubface in relation to the target and the path, the angle of attack, spin axis, launch angle and the angle of attack proving Mr. Jorgensen’s “D” plane is correct. Almost every PGA tour player today and most top instructors own a TrackMan. I am a proud owner. In 10 Lessons: The True Fundamentals of the Golf Swing I explain the Ball Flight Laws in depth, and I explain the pieces in the swing that create great ball flight. When you watch Golf on TV you see the ball starting to the right and curving back to the target, that’s a Push Draw. A Push Draw is the preferred ball flight of 95% of Touring Professionals and the flight I prefer to teach. The key is understanding the pieces in the swing that control that flight.
Most of the terminology and instruction you will see in 10 Lessons: The True Fundamentals of the Golf Swing will be NEW to you, and if not new you will have a clearer understanding of the meaning of things you’ve seen and heard, and that’s a good thing. The clear majority of you have fallen victim to information that simply doesn’t work. As I like to say often, “You don’t know, what you don’t know”. I will define the key pieces that are present in all great ball strikers. The pieces that create the contact you’ve been lacking. The pieces that will create the distance you’ve been lacking. The pieces that create the directional control you’ve been lacking.
No amount of money could locate, find, or organize this information, it’s truly priceless. The pictures in this book alone would be impossible to replicate and make this book worth its weight in gold.
