10 Keys: Basic Elements of The Golf Swing
This book is written for the Beginner to Intermediate Golfer. Golf instruction books, videos, and lessons for the last hundred years have been misleading and contradictory and in many cases downright wrong. The basic Ball Flight Laws, that dictate the direction the ball starts its initial flight and how it curves have been published with incorrect information. The clear majority of golfers slice their drivers and long clubs and sometimes all clubs or they slice their woods and pull their irons.
The problem with most golfers is that they don’t know what to do. Their friends, family, and maybe even well-meaning Golf Professionals have given them a lot of advice & tips. They tell them that they are “looking up”, “bending their left arm”, “rising up through the shot with their body”, “not bending their knees enough”, “swinging too fast”, “coming over the top” and host of other swing faults. None of these have anything to do with why you’re hitting the ball poorly and these are the same people that shoot the same scores you do! What could they possibly tell you that would improve your game? Many of the things thought to be fundamentals have nothing to do with improving your game.
In 1992 Theodore Jorgensen, a physicist, published a ground- breaking book The Physics of Golf. In his book, he explained what he referred to as the “D” plane which explained this misconception. Why is this important? Simply stated, if everyone was taught what you are about to learn, we would have generations of golfers drawing the ball instead of slicing, golf would be a different game. Instead, most instruction in the past and today teach movements in the swing that lead not only to a slice but also to hitting the ground behind the ball. This has inhibited the development of players and the game itself.
For decades, golfers have been learning the wrong things, their games have not been improving. Why is this happening? For one, there has been no consensus on the basic physics of the game, such as what makes the ball go where it goes. Plus, there has been no universal language for golfers to communicate the moves they’re making or the shots they’re hitting. Consequently, they’re forced to use vague clichés, like “I swung too fast” or “I looked up,” or other bits of handed-down jargon or as Ben Hogan once said, “bromides that don’t matter.”
These impediments have made the barrier of entry into golf unnecessarily high. Golfers routinely leave the game out of frustration, lack of direction, regression, or improvement that comes too slowly or not at all.
My system is based on geometric principles that are familiar to all, and not on the technique of a random champion golfer or even a generation of successful golfers. It so happens that many players already exhibit the correct swing geometry, whether they know it or not, but modern instruction has not helped them to find it. Too often, PGA Tour Players, relate what they feel vs. what they really do! Feel vs. real, so to speak.
There are many commonalties among the world’s best players. This book, then, is not based on a single Tour players swing, but rather a tool for measuring the difference between what good players do and poor players do. I explain the Basic Elements on how you fix your swing to create better results.
I came to my conclusions and devised the system you’re about to learn through many years of tutorship and instruction from the world’s best instructors, throwing out things that made no sense based on the rules of Physics, Geometry, and the basic motions of the human body and adopting those that did make sense. I found evidence of these principles in the game’s best players, past and present.
In, 10 Keys: Basic Elements of The Golf Swing, I will share with you the keys or secrets of the games greats, What, are these keys or secrets? If you knew, how would they affect your game?
You may read things in this book, you may have never heard of before, or might contradict many of the precepts and ideas you thought to be sacred, but if many of those things were in fact true, then why don’t they work?
As you’ll see, 10 Keys: Basic Elements of The Golf Swing explains the Keys and Basic Elements to achieve the True Fundamentals. I will explain the pieces your missing to achieve the best ball striking of your life, a system that allows for everyone to use the pieces that apply to them. This is not a method or cookie cutter approach, just hard cold facts based on Geometry and Physics
Over decades of research, I was able, to identify a good swing and to recognize all-of its pieces. It has been said that the essence of science is classification; through classification we can unlock the pattern for playing golf simply and in an organized way.
You will finally learn the True Fundamentals of the Golf Swing. Remember, geometry and physics are the same for everyone; the anatomy of the individual player’s body dictates the actual swing mechanics.
These 10 Keys are what the world’s best players do. There are Many Commonalities Among the Game’s Greatest Players. Most golfers aren’t aware of this, the common thinking is that they all swing different. However in reality by spending countless hours studying hundreds of the game’s greatest golfers, I can say they all look different swinging but the basic bio-mechanics, geometry, and physics is almost the same. Looking at these players allowed us to identify and differentiate their preferences and their commonalities that we outline in 10 Keys: Basic Elements of The Golf Swing
The information you are about to receive is not theory or conjecture but science. Oh, you say, this sounds complicated. Well it isn’t, it is simply the laws of Force and Motion that govern our entire lives and day to day living. Once you understand these simple laws your golf game will forever change…for the better! So, you ask, what are the true and correct fundamentals?
THE TRUE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE GOLF SWING:
- The ability to hit the ground in the same place every time and forward of the ball to insure clean contact.
- The ability to create enough power or distance to enjoy and play the game.
- The ability to match the clubface to the swing path to control the curvature of the ball to keep it in play.
To achieve these 3 fundamentals, you must learn the pieces or keys that produce these results. The great news is these fundamentals are achievable by all golfers. This book will now serve as your guide on how to apply these keys to your issues and your game and take you on the road, to the best Golf of your life. It will change your game in a profound way
BETTER GOLF IS NOT INSTANT, IT REQUIRES AN UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR ISSUES AND AN APPLICATION OF THE KEY PIECES YOU NEED TO APPLY FROM
